Love fest?

I have been trying to get a faster DSL connection with fairpoint for some time now. I recently found on there website a press release that was dated back to Dec. 4th, 08 stating in there own words; “Qualified customers who sign up for an annual plan with a one-year commitment can choose FairPoint High-Speed Internet with connection speeds of up to 7.1 Mbps
(megabits per second) for $39.99, up to 3 Mbps for $34.99 per month or up to 768
kbps (kilobits per second) for only $17.99 per month.” (Press Release http://bit.ly/8LYCAS)

Well I was all excited when I read this and so I go to order the service and its not available. They told me I’m to far away! Which is bullshit! I live approximately 0.7 miles away! Which is also well into the two mile limit for the 3 Mbps DSL restrictions.

So I have emailed this lady from FairPoint (the author of the press release). She is telling me the same thing I can’t have the 7.1 Mbps because I’m to far away. Then I get another email telling me that they don’t have the equipment in this area. If that’s true then why did you write it in your memo. Don’t you know what is in this area?

I again got another email just now as I am writing this post. Beth Fastiggi (Vice President – Government Relations for Vermont beth.fastiggi@fairpoint.com) says that 7.1 Mbps service in available in Bennington just not all of the locations in Bennington (what ever that means) I wrote back asking why it was put in the press release saying you offer it if it isn’t available. Then I wrote asking if it is available in Some Bennington locations where in Bennington? I would like to know the locations so I can understand better.

Personally I think this woman is shittin me and not really understanding her network.

All I want is faster DSL like it says in the press release…
